Wraparound Care

Our wraparound care is extremely popular. Children delight in the joys of cooking, unleashing their creativity through artwork, taking exciting bike rides, engaging in thrilling board games, and embarking on themed baking adventures. But it doesn't stop there; our children also can dive into reading with adults and even get a head start on their homework. Our mission is to provide a well-rounded and engaging environment that nurtures their development and sparks their passions. 

As it is popular, we have listened to your feedback regarding the challenges of booking spaces due to the club’s immense popularity. We're thrilled to announce that following significant improvements to our booking system and the expansion of our team last term, we now have more availability on most days. Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club and After School Club are available to children who are registered pupils of Downton Primary School from Reception to Year 6. Breakfast Club runs every day during term time and the session starts at 7:45am and runs until the school day commences. Breakfast Club takes place in the school hall and children are to be dropped off by 8am via the staff car park entrance. Please note that parents are not permitted to drive into the staff car park.

After School Club

The club runs from the school premises and offers a variety of activities outside and indoors including opportunities to do homework. Children who attend until 4:30pm have crackers, breadsticks and fruit. Children who stay for the full session have sandwiches, crackers, breadsticks, fruit, salad and yogurts. They also have access to fruit juice.

Sessions run from Monday-Thursday between the hours of 3.20pm and 6.00pm term time only. The care is not available on school closure TD days. The club is open to all children from Year R to Year 6.

Payments and Booking

Payments and booking are made through SchoolGateway. We have offered the option to make payments throughout the term, providing flexibility for families. Payments are required in advance of the term starting. Payments for bookings made need to be received in full and cleared with the school by the end of the first week of each term. Please note that if payment is being made using childcare vouchers, this needs to have cleared with the school, and these can take 3-5 days. Any bookings failing to receive payment within these timescales will regrettably be cancelled to enable other families access to the available sessions.

The current fees for wraparound care are:

- Breakfast Club: £6.00 per session

- After-School Club Session until 4:30pm: £6.00 per session

- After-School Club Session until 6:00pm: £11.00 per session

Capacity

Our wraparound care program is registered for a maximum capacity of 30 pupils per session for Breakfast Club and 32 pupils per session for After School Club. This limit ensures that we can maintain a manageable group size and provide adequate attention and care to each child.

Our aim is to provide children with a positive, fun and calm start and end to the school day. This is to ensure that they are settled and achieve their full potential.
