Reception Starters September 2026

Thinking about sending your child to Downton Primary School? This year, we will hold the following events to showcase our wonderful school.

Open Morning - Thursday 16th October at 9.15am (presentation and group tours).

1:1 Tours with the Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher - Thursday 6th November (AM), Wednesday 12th November (AM) & Friday 21st November 2025 (AM).

If these dates are not convenient for you, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you at a different time.

Parents of children who are about to start school for the first time must apply direct to Wiltshire Local Authority (LA), using the common admissions form you can apply online or you can contact the their Admissions Team for a form: 01225 713000

The deadline for the return of this form (either online www.wiltshire.gov.uk or hard copy) is 15th JANUARY 2026 and places will be confirmed by the LA.

We have a single admission date at the beginning of Term 1.

As a Church of England Voluntary Aided school, the school governors are the admissions authority.
