Downton Primary School’s
School Council
2023 -2024

At Downton Primary School we value the thoughts and opinions of each and every student that walks through our doors. We have two representatives from each class in KS1 and KS2 who work together to help make a difference to our school. Together we have collaborated to create an action plan for the year ahead and we will meet termly to discuss different parts of our action plan,

Meeting Minutes

We met in Autumn term one to discuss questions that we can ask our local MP- John Glenn- We asked each class to write a list of questions and then we selected the questions we thought were most appropriate and the ones we would find out the most information.

Our Royal visit
We were extremely honoured to be invited by the Royal family to have a visit with Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. Sophie came to visit local shops in Downton to discuss their success during COVID. We were able to go and greet Sophie on her way out of Downton. Sophie asked us if what our favourite subjects were and why. It was a great honour to meet her and we all had a fantastic day out.
