Dynamo Cricket
The district finals of Dynamo Cricket were held at Wyvern St Edmunds School on Tuesday of this week. We fielded a strong boys’ team made up of our cricketers from Stags, Owls and Falcons class. The boys were well briefed and had practiced some big hitting and accurate bowling. They played exceptionally well in all of the matches, facing teams from across the Salisbury area. Most matches in the group stage ended in impressive 50+ run victories, the only nip-and-tuck match against our rivals at Winterslow ending in a narrow 4 run margin. The boys then progressed to the semi-final beating St Peter’s school by a handsome margin. The final was against our most local rivals at Alderbury and after a tense run chase, with an over or two to spare it became clear that victory was within our grasp. The boys finished the job with sensible batting, scoring runs where they were available and communicating excellently in their pairs to avoid any unnecessary wickets. The final result was a victory for our team by 30 runs. The boys will now progress to the County finals – well done to all who participated on a brilliant achievement.
