ASHES CRICKET FESTIVAL

In a week that was rather dominated by assessment tests, it was a refreshing break for us to spend a day at the local leisure centre taking part in a festival of cricket. The whole class took part and formed three teams of batters, bowlers and fielders. Every player demonstrated a wonderful sporting attitude. Special mention should go to our three captains, Oscar, Harvey and Joshua who were fine, encouraging leaders and set a great example to everyone there. It was a privilege to watch confidence grow and talent blossom throughout the day. We were very pleased to finish as runners up, and also third and fourth place. (Nobody needs to know that there were only four teams taking part!) Rain certainly didn’t stop play, and we all had the ‘Chance to Shine’.
