First week back!

We have had a very busy first week back at school. The children have each been making their own poppies for our special service for remembrance day on Monday. We have used our plastic bottle poppies, made with our buddies in Y3, to decorate the gate outside the school and our paper poppies will be used during the service.

We have started learning about London in 1666 as well as London in 2019. The children used aerial perspectives to identify some of London’s famous landmarks and then went back in time to 1666 to see what London was like. They wrote setting descriptions describing their time in London and even learnt about some of the different jobs people had. They then used their knowledge of conjunctions to apply for their favourite job.

In Science the children started sorting and classifying everyday materials. They investigated whether they would float or sink and sorted them based on their properties.
