Cinquain Stars

This week we decorated the Christmas tree in the hall. Every child in the school made a beautiful decoration which they proudly hung upon the tree. Stags produced lollipop-stick stars - it wasn’t easy to get exactly the precise mathematical shape incorporating triangles and a central pentagon! Patience was required. Early in the week we wrote Christmas cinquains. A cinquain is a five line poem with a defined number of syllables in each line. Our cinquains reflected the true message of Christmas. We decorated the wooden stars with some sparkling jewels and they now sit atop the Downton Tree.
