Egg-citing Eggs!
Year 2 were very excited last week to receive a mysterious dragon egg from the Museum of Curious Artefacts. They spent time in class looking at the egg and thinking of different sentence types including questions and exclamations. The next day we were shocked to discover the mother of the egg had come to our playground to reclaim her baby. The children heard from an eye witness that the dragon was friendly and fortunately did not cause any damage to the school. They wrote some fantastic news reports outlining what had happened, developing their reporting skills from last term.
In art we used our sculpture skills to create clay dragon eyes. The children experimented with different techniques including making marks in the clay and adding extra clay to make patterns and designs.
