Fabulous Fantasy writing

This week has been a very exciting week in Year 2. We started the week with a fantastic afternoon of cricket with a coach from the All Stars cricket club. The children had great fun learning skills in bowling, batting and fielding. Some even managed to hit the stumps!

We then had an exciting evening listening to stories in school and drinking hot chocolates. Thank you to everyone who joined us for what truly was a magical evening.

After a busy Monday, we began our Tuesday with a visit from the author MP Robertson. He started off our morning with an inspiring talk about how he became an illustrator and later on in his career an author. He shared lots of tips for writing stories with us and read some of the stories he had written. He then taught us how to draw our own dragon using a step by step tutorial.

The children have been busy writing up their own character descriptions for their fantastic beasts as well as making the beast itself and modelling its habitat.
